We all have that quick ready to go meal. Easy crowd pleaser. Mine is actually one I grew up eating and now make it for my kids. It isn't exactly heathy (I was a casserole kid of the 80s) but now I just make it with the 96/4 ground beef and low fat or reduced salt option cream of mushroom. Add salad or some sort of quick veggie on the side. Lately I have been keeping a pack of the green beans you steam in the microwave on hand and then toss them with a garlic flavored grapeseed oil. All you need are those few items and I always keep them stocked. I thought it would be fun to share. Yall play along and post your favorite "Go To" meal in comments : )
Tator Tot Casserole
Brown 1 lb ground beef. Salt and pepper to taste.
Once cooked mix in 1 can cream of mushroom. Also add a dash of worcestershire if you like it.
Spread in casserole dish and layer Tater Tots (on occasion I have realized I am out of tater tots and used french fries or hashbrowns or whatever frozen potato I have) on top. Cook in oven according to Tater Tot directions. I also like to sprinkle shredded cheese on top before cooking. My mom puts the cheese underneath the potatoes so whatever floats your boat!
That's it. This is a recipe for a small 8×8 or 9×9 casserole dish. LOVE it.
